The elephant seal rookery at Piedras Blancas, California is located on the scenic Coastal Highway near Big Sur. It was an unexpected treat on our drive down the coast in May of 2006.
I hate to say this but they all look dead washed up on the beach. Reminds me somewhat of Pier 39 in SF where all the seals and sea lions gather but they are so noisy. Were these seals noisy or sleeping?
