Hiking Ditch Trail

We took the dogs on Ditch Trail.  They are very familiar with this trail and are exhausted when we're done.
Despite the number of times we've walked this same route, the scenery never gets dull.  The shadows always create a different scene depending on the ambient light.   I am always tempted to throw my arms up in the air, spin around, and belt out "the hills are alive with the sound of music"...actually, sometimes I do (if no one else is around)!

Sopris

Driving east on 82 from Glenwood Springs, we know we're "home" when we spot Mt. Sopris in Carbondale.  Currently, people are petitioning to rename the eastern peak of Sopris "John Denver Peak"...

OZ

In my opinion, Kansas gets an undeservedly bad rap when you speak to people who drive cross country.

I find the road signs amusing...

And the sky is a great canvas of color, shape, and texture in every direction,  especially as a classic Kansas storm moves through.

On the road again...

I know that heading west is finally a reality when the dogs are so excited that they get in the car (the day before) and assume their positions, and Mike secures the scooter on back of the car...telltale signs...

The Bird Seed Thief

Mike placed a bird feeder in the front yard hanging from a tree.  Lately, the top of the feeder has been mysteriously on the ground.  This morning, the mystery was solved...

Mother Nature

I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are, but this is what was happening here about 30 minutes ago...powerfully awesome...down comes the rain...

Boating

A day on the water usually lends itself to some decent photo opportunities:

A flip from Steve

Cody swimming on Josh's back

Dillon not letting go of Josh

Cody brave enough to swim a bit on his own

Mike driving the boat with his two Co-Captains

The close up of Cody is a must-see

...and Josh.  No caption.  Just plain handsome...
