A horse is a horse...

Mike and I stopped to admire the horses grazing in the distance on Owl Creek Road...

This handsome fella approached Mike so quickly, we assumed he simply wanted some human contact...

After several minutes of bonding, the horse started to stomp his foot on the ground and then stuck his tongue out at us...

...of course I attributed this as intentional behavior- frustration with us not having any food!  it's hard not to humanize animal behavior...

Biking Brush Creek Trail

I decided to venture out on my own today to gain some confidence biking.  The first two pictures Mike took (that's me...proof I did it!), and the last is a picture I captured from my iphone of the beautiful surroundings as I biked the trail...

So this is what they were barking about...

The dogs were barking incessantly yesterday as I got up to take a look.  This fox looked considerably larger than the one I posted about a couple weeks ago...perhaps a relative?

It never gets old...

Despite their frequency here, I never tire of the rainbows and the way they light the surroundings...

What better way is there to cap off a fabulous week of family in town than with a trip up Aspen Mountain
with my terrific sons...
