How far would you go?

Even standing in a foot of snow, Dillon would jump to the moon for Ball....

A dog's best friend

Those of you who know Dillon know that "Ball"(notice that it's a proper name) is his best friend and obsession.  Typically, he's very hard to photograph because he's so dark and lacking in contrast.  This evening, Dillon posed holding Ball in front of him with his front paws, as he often does, and I'm pretty sure he was smiling...

Maroon Bells before sunset

Another of the many shots you'll see of Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado. This was captured just before the sunset in July of 2009.

Big Sur Sunset

Traveling the Pacific coast of California by car was one of the most memorable trips we've taken.  Friends of ours recommended that we stay at La Ventana in Big Sur, and this was definitely a highlight of our vacation.  These pictures of Mike against the sunset over the Pacific Ocean always strike a chord with me...perhaps it's the combination of a beautiful sunset, a fabulous evening and trip, and an incredibly handsome subject...(May, 2006)

How Could you Refuse This?

Ryan (Allie's boyfriend) borrowed this precious 10 month old Labradoodle, Louie, to ask her to prom...

Oh....and she said yes!!!

Jelly Legs

Zach and his friends Steve, Darrel, and Zach S. first rode in the Ride for the Cure in Aspen as the team "Jelly Legs for Jamie" in September of 2008.  Mike and I were there cheering the team on their 100 mile trek as were hundreds of other locals.  What a great day...

Upside Down

A fast shutter speed and a talented (and handsome!) son (Josh) are all it takes to capture this action shot....

Elk Herd

No matter how many times I see them, spotting elk herds in Aspen is always exciting (especially when Mike challenges my ability to do so!).

more tulips

Individually and up close, the tulips look as beautiful as they do in their clusters...

It's tulip time!

Every spring, I anxiously await the blooming of the most fabulous tulip beds I've ever seen at a house in my neighborhood (I posted a picture of these on Valentines Day).  This year, instead of just snapping pictures from the street, I decided to knock on the owners'  door and ask permission to walk their property and take pictures.  A very kind man gladly allowed me to do so.

Light

The more I shoot, the more I learn that it's all about capturing light.  I'm trying to pay more attention to the quality and color of light.   The light in Cabo (in combination with some really cute subjects) provided for some great shots.....

We're back!

Back from a week of sun and fun in Cabo.  This really isn't Cabo, it's Cancun (10/04), but you get the idea!

In Bloom

This tree lives at the top of my driveway.  I don't know what kind it is, but hopefully someone will be able to identify it.  I've been watching and documenting its blooms at their various stages......

Sand Burial

Scrolling through my beach pictures,  I came across this picture of the kids buried in the sand in Florida.  Josh and Zach have the perfect facial expression, but Allie couldn't stop giggling.  I have this picture enlarged and displayed in my hallway.  (April, 1995)
