Shutter Speed 101

Whenever I see a great source of moving water, I always go back and make sure I play around with the basic elements of controlling the shutter speed on my camera to observe its effects on the images...

A slow shutter speed "blurs" the movement

A fast shutter speed "freezes" the movement

Scuba Man

I wish I could take credit for these photos, but anyone who really knows me knows that while I love being around water, I don't like being in it!  Mike went scuba diving in Cozumel, the second largest reef in the world, and another diver with a camera shot these pix...

There's a birthday in the house!

Today is Josh's 27th birthday and the five of us got together to celebrate.  Unfortunately, my camera's settings were off and I didn't realize it, but as cute as they are, it doesn't really make a difference...Happy Birthday Josh!!!!

Like Father, Like Son

Mike and I went to see James Taylor and his son Ben in concert in Indianapolis yesterday.  The concert was fabulous.  James, as usual, was in top form, and his son Ben, who played in his bare feet, was amazing...the spitting image of his father.   The two on stage together made for a really special evening.  My only frustration was shooting these pictures with my camera phone and the resulting poor image quality...
